Of all the WCW challenges that have to do with flowers, this is my favorite. Flowers are not my favorite, in general, but I like these. I have been fascinated ever since I've seen artwork with these kinds of flowers. I used Payne's Gray, like Emma did. I was working in a very warm house with a fan going overhead, which I should have turned off. Drying too fast was a problem but I couldn't work without that fan. Oh January, where are you??? I also did faux tearing for today's WT.

Very translucent and you created a beautiful flower. I like the color. Your falling petals are great.

Beautiful job on this technique...love the choice of color. Glad you liked this technique. Knowing you are not a flower fan, it also looks great with balloons, leaves or butterflies. Smiled about the fan....can't believe how hot it is for Wisconsin. Glad you joined us for the challenge. Stay cool.

I am in total agreement - flowers are not my favorite thing to paint either but this was a quick & easy project that looks fabulous. Beautiful shaping on all your petals and I love that you even added a few "floaters" wafting on the breeze.

I was really surprised how quickly my painting dried too. Lydia mentioned something about AC so I am guessing maybe I haven't painted all that much in the summer so I haven't noticed how AC affects watercolor. Anyway, I love your painting! I like how you have petals dropping and the faux-torn edges are a wonderful touch. A beautiful painting!
